Well there’s a couple of things to consider when it comes to how your Web site could help you get more clients. First, you have to understand that having a Web site by itself really isn’t enough. You have to do some type of ongoing marketing to actually drive people to your Web site so your Web site can actually help accomplish something for you. It’d be kind of like putting up a billboard in the middle of nowhere where no cars are going to go by; it doesn’t matter how nice the billboard looks, it doesn’t matter how great your Website is if nobody’s going there.
So there are a lot of solutions out there; social media, search engines, blogging, things like that. Those are different ways people can actually find your Web site. So the first thing I would say is that if you’re not doing anything online other than just having a Web site, well then your Web site is not really going to help you produce any clients.
The other thing to keep in mind though is that your Web site is also a place to send referrals, to send people you network with when you meet them and so one of the ways your Web site can actually help you get more clients is just by your Web site reinforcing your credibility, reinforcing your expertise. That is why it’s important to have a Web site that does impress, that doesn’t just get the job done but actually kind of goes above and beyond in communicating your expertise and there’s some different ways you can do that through content, through blogging, through video on your Web site, through a nice design and ultimately that’s going to help you get clients because it’s going to impress people when they get there which then should actually make it easier to close with them when they come in to see you.
