Well, I mean having your Web site lists your credentials is nice and all but first of all, whose Web site doesn’t do that; that’s kind of the basics, you know, so I mean any prospects that’s looking at you and maybe a couple of other attorney’s is going to see a great list of credentials and typically it’s not hard to make your credentials look good. No offense if you have a great list but I think you need to hear that that’s not enough by itself.
There’s a few other things you can do on your Web site that are really going to have a positive impression on someone; one of them might be to have videos, it could be a video series where you answer common questions people have but even just having well-done video typically is going to be something that’s going to separate you from some others.
Find other ways to demonstrate your credibility and expertise other than just a credentials list, right? I mean, that’s why you list off your credentials because you want people to see that you’re qualified, that you’re an expert that they can trust you. So share some of your knowledge through video. Include blogs on your Web site where you talk about different topics in your practice area. Include some testimonials if there’s a proper way that you can do that. Find other ways other than just a list of credentials to communicate your expertise, to communicate your focus and to communicate what you’re good at because ultimately that’s why someone’s at your Web site because they’re trying to learn more about you to figure out if you can help them.
