Well in some ways this question is actually easiest to start off with maybe what not to include or maybe better said what not to make the main focus. It’s really easy to want to talk about a case that you just won or share about a new hire or something like that but your newsletter shouldn’t just be about news from your law firm if that makes sense. Your newsletter should really be about giving people something of value or interest to them. It should really be about the recipient and so some examples that we like to use for our clients is we include a blog that they’ve done recently and the blogs typically going to provide practical information about their area of law that would be helpful to the person receiving it.
We’re going to try to include video because a lot of people are actually much willing to press play before they read content so we’ll try to include some sort of video that could be interesting or helpful to them and then little things; quote of the month, you know, stuff like that, just whatever you can do to kind of dress it up a little bit more but overall when you think about the content of your newsletter through email, think about what’s going to be of value to the person receiving it and that’s going to be a good way for your firm to leverage email marketing and your email campaigns.
