You know that old saying about a tree falling in the woods? The same can apply to your firm’s website. If no one ever visits your website, does your firm even exist?
Small businesses across all industries want to stand out from their competitors and be as visible as possible to their target audience. Unfortunately, most small businesses think the best (and only) way to do that is by showing up in Google searches. NOT TRUE.
Here are 5 easy ways to increase your firm’s visibility.
1. Engage on Social Media
Thanks to the way social media algorithms work, organic reach is gone (unless you pay for it, thereby turning it into paid reach) and has been replaced by virality, which comes in the form of how much people engage with your content. Even more, regardless of what you think bar ethics or compliance rules say, you are allowed to engage with people on social media. Plus, if engagement on YOUR content is important to you, you’ll need to turn that relationship into a two-way street. Engage with other people and businesses and build a community that ultimately leaves lots of likes and comments on your posts.
2. Get Your Team Involved
Company culture is big right now, and if you have a firm full of grumpy employees, it can send a prospective client across town to your competitor. Demonstrate that your firm is a great place to work by sharing behind-the-scenes content and getting your team involved in creating and engaging with the content your firm is posting. That opens up your firm to be exposed to their networks since social algorithms spread virality through the people who are liking and commenting.
3. Get Behind the Camera
Video is becoming more and more standardized as the preferred content medium on social media. The more visible you make yourself, the more comfortable people will be with your firm as a whole.
4. Run a Contest
Want to generate some buzz around your firm? Run a contest where people share your content (please make it something valuable) and get entered into a drawing for a prize. Make it good, too. Something like tickets to a game, a fancy dinner, or an experience unique to your area. This can also be a good lead generator as well!
5. Work with Current and New Referral Partners
Want to get in front of more people? Do a co-branded webinar, workshop, or event with another business that can be (or already is) a referral partner. Promote your event and swap attendee lists with each other for easy lead generation and increased visibility.
Pretty simple, right? However—at the end of the day, being the most visible firm out there means nothing if no one thinks you’re actually an expert. That’s where we come in. We can build a content strategy for you that enhances your visibility, but also keeps you top of mind with the audience you’re already building. This leads to more referrals, repeat business, and working with exactly who you want to work with. Schedule a call with our team today to learn about the ways we can help you.
