3 Benefits of Having an Interview Podcast

When we created Center Stage last year, we originally did so as a way to provide additional resources to our audience by bringing in outside perspectives, especially in areas where we weren’t necessarily known as experts (systems and processes, HR, firm culture, etc.). But along the way, we saw more benefits pop up, especially as the show grew and gained traction.

Admittedly, having an interview podcast requires a little more work than a standard monologue or a show you co-host because you have to find guests and coordinate with their schedules. However, the benefits are well worth the extra little bit of effort.

1. You can nurture referral relationships

Look, it’s okay to admit it. Most firm owners aren’t great about consistently staying in touch with their most strategic referral sources. We all get busy. But if you have an interview-style podcast, your referral sources are perfect guests! Reaching out to them will make them feel valued, and they’ll also feel like a big deal getting to come on someone’s show.

2. You can tap into new networks

Whether it’s a strategic referral partner or a guest you found elsewhere, chances are they’ll share the episode they appeared on with their own networks. That gives you and your firm more exposure as well when people who know your guests tune in to listen to that episode.

3. You can reinforce your message

Whether you have former clients or industry experts on your show, having someone else say the same things you’ve been saying is really powerful. For example, we’ve had several marketing experts on Center Stage and, without any prep beforehand, they’ll say something that falls exactly in line with the message we’ve been broadcasting for years. It’s exciting and validating to hear.

Having a podcast where you interview others has a lot of benefits, as you can see. Even if you don’t want to do interviews, we can’t recommend enough how fun and impactful a podcast can be for your firm. That’s why we offer a podcast production service to help you out!
