Three Benefits of a First Class Website

In my previous blog, I provided a few ways your website can actually help “seal the deal” with prospects, and shared a personal example of one of our clients who experience this firsthand. But now I want to spend some time talking about why this matters.  What are the benefits of having a website that impresses and enhances your image and credibility?

It Makes Sales Easier

You may not have realized it, but you have a sales department.  It may consist of just you, or perhaps a secretary and other staff members.  But, anyone who fields phone calls from leads and referrals… that is sales.  Consultations… that is also sales.

Prospects, including referrals, should always be encouraged to look at your website before coming in or scheduling a phone appointment.  If your website demonstrates your value, credibility, and knowledge to clients, it will make the sales process easier for everyone.

We have had multiple clients acknowledge that they have noticed a difference in their ability to close deals with clients; that it has become easier! Spending less time having to convince prospects that you are right person to help them means more time and energy to spend on your practice – or on vacation!

Charge the Rates You Want

Simply put, if prospects perceive you as a credible expert in your field, it increases the likelihood that they will pay you what you are worth.  Now I realize everyone has a different target market, so at the end of the day its up to you to determine what you can charge and who your market is.

Think of it this way, if you are sick and need a doctor, do you want just any doctor, NO!  You want the best you can get, someone who is the perfect fit, an expert in what your sickness is.  Your prospects have a need, and if they realize you are the best fit for them, they are usually willing to pay the proper price to get the right solution.

Increase Referrals

When you have a website that helps sell you to prospects, what this really means is you have a website that makes a great first impression.  So consider this, whether its a random person who finds you through Google, a colleague you met a networking event, or of course your clients, all of them should check out your website.  If your website makes the right impression on them, they are all the more likely to think of you down the road when they have a need, or know someone with a need.

Of course, this truth applies to all aspects of your marketing and relationships.  How you carry yourself at the networking event, or how good of a job you do for your clients…these things matter are very important as well.  But, don’t sell yourself short of the value of the lasting impression your website can make on people.

I once had a client tell me a colleague of his said, “Your website is the best I have ever seen in your profession.”   If that colleague has a referral opportunity, who do you think he is going to think of?

Overall, a well-done and strategic website is nowadays an integral part of running your firm.  Make it a priority now to improve your online presence, and experience the benefits!
